St Mark’s is a church community where there is always something going on. There are all sorts of ministries and groups that help us connect with God and with one another. There are things for adults, for teenagers and for kids and the information below will give you a glimpse of some of them.

Sunday School (or ‘Sunday Cool’ as we like to call it) is on every Sunday from 9:45 to 11:30am during school terms (that doesn’t mean that there’s no Sunday Cool during the holidays; during school holidays, our ‘Extra Cool’ program provides fun and exciting holiday games, crafts, singing and learning!

Kids Plus Kids Plus is an after school programme for kids in years 3 – 6 at school held on Fridays 3.30 – 5.30pm during term times. We learn about our awesome God from the Bible, play games, have afternoon tea and make things! (A small weekly cost is involved).

Here’s a taste of what goes on at Sunday Cool and kids Plus each week:

There is also HAWK, a mega-fun week-long program run in the July school holidays each year. Details of HAWK 2009 will be available soon.

Friday Night is Kononia night for junior high.

There is the GAP program for for junior high on Sunday morning at the same time as 10am church.

Y.C. meets on Sunday afternoons at 5:00pm at St Mark’s for senior high students to get to enjoy getting to know the awesome God through his word and getting to know one another at the same time.

For more details contact us.

M.E.N.U. is a group for men from across the generations to meet together bi-monthly for dinner, fellowship and a guest speaker. We get to know one another better and work together on the project of being the men God wants us to be.

TRAX is for anyone who like to get out and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation, and share fellowship with others!

In addition to the many fantastic day, weekend and longer trips, TRAX also offers courses in 4WD driver training, bush skills, and navigation.

This group also meets every 2 months on a Monday night at the church building.

You don’t need to own your own 4WD vehicle, if you’d like to come along we’ll find you a spare seat.

There is an active women’s ministry team at St Mark’s. For further information about events, get-togethers and regular group meetings please Contact us.

Some of our women’s groups include:

  • Women’s Growth Groups; meet weekly during school terms. These are a fantastic opportunity to connect with other women and with God as you read the Bible together and pray over coffee and yummies. We have a range of women’s growth groups, including one with child minding. For times and locations contact us here.
  • Play Group; meets weekly during school terms on Thursdays at the church building at 9:30am.
  • Mother’s Union; our corner of the 3.7 million member MU world meets monthly. MU promotes the wellbeing of families worldwide. Members are committed to sharing Christ’s love by encouraging, strengthening and supporting marriage and family life.

Good Companions is a friendly group of over 55’s from around Pennant Hills, Thornleigh and beyond who meet every 4th Tuesday at St Mark’s. Some meetings we have an interesting speaker and bring our lunch (tea, coffee provided) or we go on a bus trip or other outing. All are welcome: you do not need to be a member of St Mark’s church (or any church for that matter) to be welcome. Come at 11.00am and stay as long as you wish! Enjoy the companionship and stimulation.

You can find the 2010 program for Good Companions here.
