The Jesus whose birth we’ve just celebrated (and it was great to meet so many people from our local community at our Christmas services!) grew up to be a man who said some very odd things. Jesus gave a lot of his teaching in the form of parables; succinct little stories that have at their core a point about God, or us, or this world that he wanted us to get. Parables can be a bit like the walnuts that appear on the dinner table at Christmas. What’s at the core of them is yummy, but some people have trouble getting through the shell – but the effort is worth the reward!

At St Mark’s Anglican Church Pennant Hills, we’re going to be exploring some of the parables of Jesus over January at each of our Sunday Services. If you’d like to spend some time in January doing something more meaningful than picking at the leftover ham and not pulling down the Christmas tree, you’d be more than welcome to join us.
